I am pleased with the device. My first TomTom GPS Navigator and will not be my final!
I am happy with the gadget. Happier than I used to be with Sync, Alpine, or Garmin. I consider myself an 'Average' navigation user (not a beginner, not an professional) and will update the evaluation after utilizing it more.
Sidenote: I ordered via Amazon, utilizing "Beach Camera" vendor. It was delivered One (one) company day after I ordered it! I utilized 'Standard' shipping, and FedEx (Home service) had it delivered fast. Extremely pleased with Beach Camera's shipping email messages and speed!
I thought I'd provide an update after 6 months of utilizing this TomTom gadget:
one) I am still very happy! It is the 1st GPS I've utilized that "just works" and I am glad I don't have to mess with it.
two) I've mastered the method of adjusting the display position while simultaneously keeping the suction base. Back again in Might when i initial reviewed it, I used to be concerned about how 'easily' it popped off. Now, it is still annoying, but I've minimized the amount of times it occurs by keeping it appropriately. It doesn't annoy me sufficient to purchase a different stand/holder.
3) The suction cup still holds on fairly well. It hasn't fallen off but. (I attach/detach in the windshield each time I use it.)
four) Traffic Receiver: I have been satisfied with alternate directions/road closings. It's fairly accurate, even in rural areas exactly where I didn't anticipate road closures to be shown.
5) Long-distance travel: I've utilized it for a couple of lengthy trips (1000+ miles) and had no problems whatsoever with it. I discovered the 'estimate' of time to be very accurate. It was no more than 10 minutes off. (I calculated time I stopped for gas and additional it to the original estimate.)
6) Battery lifestyle: I've discovered the battery lifestyle to be keeping a little less cost than it utilized to, but nothing that I really feel is alarming. Most of time, I have the energy cord connected anyway (so I can get the traffic updates with the antenna built in to the cord.)
General, this really is my preferred GPS. I have been hooking it as much as the computer less and less (which means I am forfeiting new 'map share' corrections). I even made the decision NOT to get the newest map update. Why? Nicely, I really feel every thing is operating just fine the way in which it is. I might update if I have the free time. This is in sharp distinction to my prior GPS expertise, exactly where I'd pray for updates to repair stubborn problems. The TomTom is simply fine and I have had no main complaints. I am NOT within the market to purchase a new GPS because I am lastly satisfied.
